ROE GREEN TOPPLE DENTON

Denton traveled to Greenleach Lane and were knocked off the top of the table by Roe Green. Sean Flegg scored 73 and Paul Green 48 as the home side scored 173 (Modi Ali 5-14) but despite 46 from Ghulam Abbas, Denton were bowled out for 142 (Gareth Williams 5-78 being his first five for).

Woodhouses went back to the top for the first time since early June by taking four points off Denton West. John Seeary’s 4-52 restricted West to 188-8d (Lee Dale 51) and then 79 not out by James Clarke and 49 from Mike Cassidy gave Woodhouses a seven wicket win.

Prestwich stayed third when they completed the double over Irlam, Oliver Holt taking 3-20 as Irlam were bowled out for 143 (Pervez Shah 44). In reply Steve Davies was unbeaten on 82 as Prestwich won by six wickets (Gaz Burns 3-73).

Ominously, D.S.L. moved up two places to fourth with an eight wicket win at Thornham who were dismissed for 118 (Steve Gray 34). Steve Dublin followed up his 4-12 with an unbeaten fifty and Barry Williams scored 40.

Dukinfield dropped a place to sixth when Glossop won by one wicket at Higher King Street. Bhatiya Perera took 4-29 as Dukinfield scored 122 (Kabil Akram33, Andrew Gleave 32) and then Andrew Eastwood (4-45) looked to have won the game for Dukinfield as Glossop slumped to 111-9. However Will Hargreaves stayed with Mark Usher to steer Glossop home.

Woodbank had Stand in trouble when the rains came to the Kenyons with Stand on 114-9 in reply to the home side’s 196-3d. Steve Loster scored 92 and Neil Ridehaugh 78 not out for Woodbank and Dave Taylor 54 for Stand.

At the bottom of the table there was  another tie as Flowery Field scored 210-9 and Cheetham Hill 210 all out. Bilal Hanif’s 58 was his first fifty and Glen Middleton took 5-110 for Flowery Field.
