RAIN AT HALF WAY STAGE

All the matches were abandoned as draws except the match at Glossop which brought an end to Stand’s winning run. Oliver Beirne scored 34 in Stand’s total of 138 (Bhatiya Perera 4-45, Will Hargreaves 3-10) and then 45 by John Stopford gave Glossop a four wicket win (Carl Sutcliffe 4-43).

In the rain affected games, Steve Wharton (64) recorded his maiden fifty in Denton’s 248-5d against West. Imran Mirza scored 51 and in reply Robin Morris was 57* as West reached 174-4 before the rains came.

Paul Turner scored 82 for Dukinfield in their 212-8d (Manny Khan 4-78) and Irlam closed on 92-2 (Chris Hilton 47 not out).

Prestwich scored 262-4d against Woodbank with Steve Davies and Craig Duxbury both scoring 77 and putting 129 on for the first wicket. Duxbury then took 3-27 as Woodbank reached 157-5 (Ghulam Abbas 45, Damien Stringer 36*).

Phill Sutcliffe’s 71 was his 75th fifty and Dave Morrell took 4-63 in Woodhouses total of 200 and D.S.L. were 122-1 at the close (Adam Hawley 67).

David Dickin’s first fifty (62), together with 46 by Howard Lyon saw Flowery Field to a total of 255-9d (Matthew Wright 5-108) and Roe Green reached 140-5 before the rains (Sean Flegg 47)

Thornham raced to 297-7d with James Scott (116) taking 90 balls to reach his ton. A. Graham scored 63 and Cheetham Hill were 93-4 at the close (Ian Gilbertson 3-38).
